Are you a Pathologists' Assistant looking for full-time work at the largest health system in Indiana? We are hiring! Come join IU Health's growing Pathology Laboratory in Fort Wayne Indiana. The hospital is scheduled to open in May of 2027. As such, selected candidates will be expected to begin employment in early 2027 to support onboarding and operational readiness.
IU Health is expanding access to high-quality, patient-centered care, with a new 140 bed hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The hospital will bring a broad range of services, including emergency, surgical and specialty care, closer to home for individuals and families in the region. IU Health Fort Wayne is part of the 17-hospital IU Health Laboratory System served by over 70 pathologists. Although based in Fort Wayne, these positions will have access to the expertise of the subspecialized pathologists operating out of the department's IU Health Central Pathology Laboratory in Indianapolis. Being a part of the expansive IU Health Laboratory system affords the ideal candidate the ability to practice in a community environment with the support of the enriched environment created by an academic pathology practice.

- Work directly with 2 Physicians and 1 APP
Key Responsibilities:
- The pathologists’ assistant position will include surgical pathology specimen grossing, Pathology resident interaction, and frozen section for the adult patient population within our system.
Qualifications:
- Candidate will be required to have trained in a NAACLS accredited pathologists’ assistant program with ASCP board certification.
- Candidate will have the ability to bring a high level of personal integrity and a willingness to collaborate with staff physicians and co-workers in a dynamic and evolving practice.

Healthcare System/Hospital Description
Delivering on our vision to make Indiana one of the nation’s healthiest states, Indiana University Health expanded into the northeast Indiana market in 2018. Currently, IU Health operates four primary care clinics, two urgent cares, and a radiology center in the Fort Wayne area. A 40,000-square foot accredited ambulatory care center opened in 2021, with five operating and five procedure rooms for more than 10 different specialties.
