Indiana University Health Arnett OB/GYN is seeking to add full-time Certified Nurse Midwife as they rebuild the historic Certified Nurse - Midwife Practice located in Lafayette, Indiana. Join a collegial team of 8 OB/GYN physicians, 3 GYN physicians, 3 Nurse Practitioners and 2 Nurse Midwives with a goal of 5 FTE CNMs.

Employment opportunity details:

  • Full-time position, 40-hour work week.
  • Sign on bonus and relocation assistance available. 
  • Robust onboarding program with blend of ambulatory and in-patient care.
  • Provide Full scope of ambulatory services and in hospital, midwifery-led, maternity care caseload.
  • Provide volume in clinic: approx. 20 patients per full day. 
  • Opportunity to work with a group of experienced RNs who have been exposed to and support physiologic birth.
  • Option for hydrotherapy and water birth for appropriate candidates.
  • Strong focus on building and sustaining a culture of collegial relationships between OB/GYNs, CNMs and RNs

    • 2 10-hour weekend shifts (inpatient) and 1 4-hour clinic day per week 
    • No call 
  • 90% inpatient, 10% outpatient 
  • Work directly with 3 physicians and 6 other APPs

Responsibilities

  • This position will include initiation of guideline directed medical therapy, inpatient advanced heart failure management, as well as outpatient follow up appointments in clinic and patient education for heart failure patients. 

Qualifications:

  • Candidate must be Board Eligible or Board Certified
  • Master’s Degree required
  • Will accept an ACNP, AGNP, ANP, FNP or PA
    • If new graduate, ICU/PCU nursing experience or extensive ICU or Cardiology experience during clinical rotations required 
  • Cardiology/Heart Failure experience preferred 
  • Ideal candidates have excellent critical thinking skills, are able to multitask in a high intensity setting, and have confidence in their clinical skills to function top of scope.
