IU Health Southern Indiana Physicians is seeking an experienced Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Cardiothoracic Surgery team at IU Health Bloomington Hospital!

Position Details:

  • Full-time, Days, Monday-Friday (7:00am-4:00pm)
  • Call shared equally between the APPs
    • Rotating weekend rounds when on call 
  • Team includes 2 surgeons and 2 PA's

Key Responsibilities:

  • Daily patient rounds (including CVICU), patient education, and discharge summaries
  • Perform invasive procedures such as thoracentesis, chest tube insertions, arterial lines
  • Retrieve vascular tissue, including greater and lesser saphenous, veins, and radial arteries
  • Endoscopic retrieval methods and involved in the industrial aspect of EVH
  • First-assist on all cardiac/thoracic cases
  • Knowledge of the pharmacologic effects of vasoactive/cardiotonic drugs, ventilator care, and artificial cardiac devices
  • Helps manage the pre and post-surgical patients under the supervision of the surgeons in the operating room, inpatient and clinic setting. 

Qualifications:

  • Must be Board Certified 
  • Must hold either ACNP or PA certifications
  • At least 2 years of CT Surgery experience required
    • Previous experience as a full assist in CT Surgery required
    • Endoscopic vein harvesting experience preferred 
    • Endoscopic radial artery harvesting experience preferred

We are seeking a Nurse Midwife to join our committed OB/GYN team at Bloomington Hospital in Bloomington, IN

Position Details:

  • Full-time, Rotating Shifts (days, nights weekends) 
    • Rotating 8-hour office days and 24-hour in-house days 
    • Weekend rotation is Q5 weekends 
    • 32-hours one week, 48-hours next week

  • Full-scope Midwifery practice - 
    • Responsibilities include: providing care to OB/GYN patients, including labor and delivery rounding, prenatal, antepartum and postpartum care, routine wellness and problem focused visits. OBED Triage and after-hours phone triage. 
    • Procedures include: Vaginal deliveries, LARC/IUD insertions and removals, I&D, Colposcopies, PAPs, endometrial biopsies, etc.  

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree required 
  • Must be BE/BC in Nurse Midwifery
  • OBGYN experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings preferred
  • Experience that has led to independent thinking and the ability to practice autonomously in the setting of an observation unit, completing admissions, and discharges.
