Location: Lafayette, IN - Specialty: Physician Assistant, Surgical: Cardiovascular & Thoracic

IU Health Arnet is hiring an experienced Physician Assistant to join our close-knit and team-oriented Cardiovascular Surgery practice at IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette IN.  This new and exciting position will be a mix of time in the Operating Room, time with patients in the hospital and also in the office settings.  

Position Details:

• Full Time, Day Shift 
  • 6:00am-4:00pm
  • 3-4 individuals will share call (overnight, primarily for OR needs - includes Saturday-Sunday)
• 85% inpatient / 15% outpatient
• Experience in the OR required
• Work directly with 2 physicians and 1 advanced practice providers
• Expected patient volume: approximately 30 per week between hospital and clinic 
• Additional Training and mentoring with experienced Cardiovascular professionals 

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide care to patients that have cardiovascular and thoracic pathology; including cancers, valve disfunctions and other cardiovascular diseases. 
• Co-managing pre/post surgery care for patients in the hospital
• Assisting with triage needs for patients who call into the office for needs
• First-assisting in the OR
• Endoscopic vein harvesting
• Management of chest tubes and wounds
• Thoracentesis and arterial lines 
• Travel may be required during orientation

Qualifications:

• Master's degree required
• PA Certification 
• Surgical cardiology and/or CV surgery experience required
• First assistant skills in the OR required

IU Health Southern Indiana Physicians is hiring! We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner to join our OB/GYN team at Bloomington Hospital for full-scope outpatient gynecological care.  Ideal candidates will be patient-focused, evidence based, and excellent communicator with team-based approach to care.

Position Details:

• Full-time, 100% outpatient, Monday-Friday; No weekends, holidays, or call
• Patient population, GYN from menarche through end of life; average 72-80/week
• Practice includes 15 physicians and 12 advanced practice providers and robust support staff
• Procedures include: LARC/IUD insertions and removals, endometrial and vulvar biopsies

Qualifications:

• WHNP, CNM, or FNP certification required
• NP experience required, preferably in an OB/GYN office (minimum one year)
• Experience that has led to independent thinking and the ability to practice autonomously in the setting of an observation unit, completing admissions, and discharges.  
• Ability to communicate efficiently and effectively in a collaborative role when working with physicians.

Position Details:

  • Day Shift, 8:00am-5:30pm

• 100% outpatient
• Team includes 1 physician and 1 nurse practitioners 
• Patient volume in clinic is 30/day 
• Will require training in hyperbaric treatments

Key Responsibilities:

• Position will focus on the treatment of complicated or non-healing wounds for primarily adult patients (some pediatric HBO referrals) 
• Provider will primarily see return patients and new referrals in the clinic setting 
• Evaluate, assess and treat patients with physician consultation as needed 
• Order entry for medications and outpatient testing 
• Provider will be a resource for nurses covering daily nurse visits and office staff 
• Procedures include surgical debridement, biopsies, and chemical cauterizations to optimize wound healing 

Qualifications:

• FNP or PA certification required
• Ideal candidate has Wound Care experience along with higher acuity inpatient experience (critical care or emergency medicine) 
• Experience giving over-sight required for HBO therapy is a plus
