The Medical Director will have leadership responsibilities to lead, manage and promote the division's patient care, quality and program growth.
Job Details
- Day schedule: Monday-Friday; and would transition over several years to sharing outpatient and inpatient with physician partners; every fourth weekend inpatient coverage and one night of call weekly
- To start the practice will be roughly 50% inpatient in ICU and 50% outpatient in pulmonary clinic
- Practice location: IU Health Saxony Hospital
- Academic appointment at IUSOM with teaching opportunities
- Procedures include intubations, chest tubes, and bronchoscopies
- Collaboration with APP's as part of a partnership with hospitalists

The Riley Pediatric GI service provides care for children and adolescent with various GI conditions who have an extensive array of psychiatric and psychological needs. Evidence-based care for pediatric GI conditions (e.g. Functional Abdominal Pain, Encopresis, EOE, Rumination, disordered eating and feeding, Transplant, Ulcerative Colitis, Crohn's Disease and Celiac Disease, etc.) recommends psychological and behavioral services as an integral part of the treatment plan, in addition to medical care and management. Children and adolescents presenting with GI symptoms/conditions are at heightened risk for mental health comorbidities, including depression, anxiety and behavioral problems, and are at risk for life-long consequences such as chronic pain and decreased functioning.
