  • Full time opportunity
  • Day shift, Monday – Friday, 8AM – 5PM
  • 1:9 call Schedule with 24hrs in house call.
  • 100% outpatient, some inpatient work depending on surgeries.

Key Responsibilities: 

The Dept Chairperson provides administrative leadership and clinical oversight for their department. General oversight responsibilities include: 

  • Scheduling/leading monthly department meetings including production of agendas and minutes in collaboration with Dept manager.
  • Assurance of appropriate coverage of departmental clinical responsibilities, including the timely publishing of on-call schedules.
  • Addressing, as appropriate, patient complaints with dept members. Approving requests by dept members for changes in their master schedule templates; assuring that such changes do not necessarily limit patient access to services.
  • Responsibility for managing the department budget in collaboration with practice managers.
  • Addressing, in collaboration with dept manager, CMO and/or Human Resources as appropriate, personnel issues involving department members. 
  • Quarterly rounding on all dept providers, other periodic one on one meetings as indicated.
  • Providing care for patients for obstetrics and gynecology needs including full spectrum surgery.
  • DaVinci robotics skills preferred.

Qualifications:

  • Candidate must be Board Certified with Medical Degree or foreign equivalent
  • Licensure to practice in the state of Indiana with current BLS Certification
  • OBGYN Residency required
  • Excellent communication with knowledge of policies & procedures for the area

Site specific occurrence malpractice coverage provided by IU Health.

Generalist/ Clinic and Call:

Full scope OBGYN Generalist work with ambulatory clinic and call duties. OBGYN will participate in postpartum rounding starting at 6am, begin clinic work at 9am. See OBGYN patients in clinic from 9am- 4pm. Must have skillset to perform in office procedures such as IUD/ Nexplanon insertion/ removal, colposcopy, endometrial biopsy, and NST evaluation. Work with inpatient Laborist to manage and deliver OB patients in the inpatient unit during the day and night. Level 3 NICU/ approximately 2000 deliveries a year Labor and Delivery Unit. Must have skill set to perform emergent gyn surgical procedures such as suction D&C, laparoscopic salpingectomy for ectopic pregnancy, laparoscopic cystectomy/ oopherectomy, and ER consultations. Cerner EMR. Compensation: $250 per hour. Stipend for travel/ housing in addition to clinical pay. Site specific occurrence malpractice coverage provided by IU Health.

Gyn Surgery Only:

OBGYN provides preoperative assessment in preoperative ambulatory clinical setting, performs gyn minor and major surgeries, performs postoperative rounding, and evaluates patient in postop ambulatory clinic visits. Skill set to perform the following surgeries: Minor gyn surgery- exam under anesthesia, LEEP, cold knife cone, diagnostic and operative hysteroscopy, suction D&C, hysteroscopic polypectomy/myomectomy, endometrial ablation, vulvar biopsy , diagnostic laparoscopy Major gyn surgery- laparoscopic adnexal surgery such as cystectomy/oophorectomy, abdominal and laparoscopy myomectomy, laparoscopic/vaginal/abdominal/ or robotic approaches for hysterectomy, laparoscopic/ robotic endometriosis resection/ fulguration Cerner EMR. Compensation: $300 per hour. Stipend for travel/housing in addition to clinical pay. Site specific occurrence malpractice coverage provided by IU Health.

See OBGYN patients in clinic from 9am- 4pm. Must have skillset to perform in office procedures such as IUD/ Nexplanon insertion/ removal, colposcopy, endometrial biopsy, and NST evaluation. Work with inpatient Laborist to manage and deliver OB patients in the inpatient unit during the day and night. Level 3 NICU/ approximately 2000 deliveries a year Labor and Delivery Unit. Must have skill set to perform emergent gyn surgical procedures such as suction D&C, laparoscopic salpingectomy for ectopic pregnancy, laparoscopic cystectomy/ oopherectomy, and ER consultations. Cerner EMR. Compensation: $250 per hour. Stipend for travel/ housing in addition to clinical pay. Site specific occurrence malpractice coverage provided by IU Health.

Gyn Surgery Only:

OBGYN provides preoperative assessment in preoperative ambulatory clinical setting, performs gyn minor and major surgeries, performs postoperative rounding, and evaluates patient in postop ambulatory clinic visits. Skill set to perform the following surgeries: Minor gyn surgery- exam under anesthesia, LEEP, cold knife cone, diagnostic and operative hysteroscopy, suction D&C, hysteroscopic polypectomy/myomectomy, endometrial ablation, vulvar biopsy , diagnostic laparoscopy Major gyn surgery- laparoscopic adnexal surgery such as cystectomy/oophorectomy, abdominal and laparoscopy myomectomy, laparoscopic/vaginal/abdominal/ or robotic approaches for hysterectomy, laparoscopic/ robotic endometriosis resection/ fulguration Cerner EMR. Compensation: $300 per hour. Stipend for travel/housing in addition to clinical pay. Site specific occurrence malpractice coverage provided by IU Health.
