• 100% inpatient
• Team includes 13 physicians and 15 APPs
• Inpatient Neurotrauma, neurovascular, and neurosurgical patients (i.e. stenosis, stroke, brain and spinal cord tumors, brain surgery, ICU)

Key Responsibilities:

• See neurosurgery consults
• Patient care coordination
• Ordering diagnostic imaging and labs
• Perform complete neurological exams
• Interpret data and imaging results
• Assist in developing the plan of care for patients

Qualifications:

• ACNP, AGNP, FNP or PA certification required
• APP Experience in neurosurgery and/or ICU preferred 
• If new graduate, clinical rotation and/or clinical rotations in neurosurgery, trauma, or ICU is required
• General knowledge of neurological deficits and disordered highly preferred

We are seeking a dedicated and engaged Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our growing Neurosurgery team in Bloomington, IN!

Highlights:

• Full Time, Day Shift 
  • Monday-Friday, flexible shift options (5 8's or 4 10's)
  • May include weekend day call on occasion to support practice 
• 1:1 care model with collaborating physician 
  • Mix of inpatient and outpatient responsibilities - environment will mirror collaborating physician 
• Join a collaborative team of 3 physicians and 3 APPs 
• Patient population will include Adult Neurosurgery patients, predominantly neuro-spine.

Responsibilities: 

• Outpatient Clinic - APP will primarily see pre and post operative patients as well as new referrals when appropriate. Provider will evaluate, assess, treat and educate patients with physician consultation available when needed. Provider will be responsible for order entry for medications and testing and will follow-up on imaging/tests. APP will be a resource for nurses covering nurse visits and triage. 
• Inpatient - Provider will round on new consults and first assist surgeon in the OR. APP will also be first call during day-time hours while on schedule at the hospital. 

Qualifications:

• Master's degree required 
• ACNP, FNP or PA certification required 
• 2-3 years of provider experience preferred, but open to highly motivated new graduates 
  • Background in Neurosurgery, Orthopedic Spine, PM&R or Interventional Pain Management highly preferred

Provide counseling on lifestyle changes and self-care strategies to manage chronic conditions. Provide discharge education and teaching, including dilation teaching, catheter teaching, etc. 
• Documentation and Compliance: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient medical records. Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations and standards. Document all patient interactions, treatment plans, and outcomes in electronic health records (EHR) systems. 
• Professional Development and Continuing Education: Stay current with medical advancements, treatment protocols, and healthcare regulations. Participate in continuing education activities. Maintain all required certifications and licenses.

• Will require training in hyperbaric treatments

Key Responsibilities:

• Position will focus on the treatment of complicated or non-healing wounds for primarily adult patients (some pediatric HBO referrals) 
• Provider will primarily see return patients and new referrals in the clinic setting 
• Evaluate, assess and treat patients with physician consultation as needed 
• Order entry for medications and outpatient testing
