Key Responsibilities

  • Attend deliveries of high-risk neonatal patients

Job Responsibilities:
Clinical Care

•    Evaluate, diagnose, and manage adult patients with sickle cell disease across inpatient and outpatient settings.
•    Provide follow-up care after hospitalization, including transitional care visits and ongoing disease management.
•    Manage acute and chronic complications of sickle cell disease, including: 

  • Vaso-occlusive pain crises
  • Acute chest syndrome
  • Chronic transfusion management
  • Iron overload
  • Disease-modifying therapies
  • Pregnancy-related sickle cell care

•    Participate in inpatient rounding at IU Health hospitals as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Masters degree required
  • NNP or PA-Neonatal certification required
  • Open to new graduates with NICU experience 
  • NICU experience, ideally level 3-4, preferred
  • Delivery room experience, preferred
  • Ability to provide independent APP coverage during night shifts, managing acute neonatal care
  • Fully credentialled in all required procedures, as defined by institutional standards
