Riley Children's Health is announcing a new pediatric hospitalist service at Indiana University Health in Bloomington, IN. This is an exciting and unique opportunity for five pediatricians or med/peds to join the state's premier pediatric hospital program while contributing to Riley Children's mission and strategic growth initiative for providing closer access to care for our patients in southern Indiana.
Highlights
- Clinical care covering the 6-bed pediatric inpatient unit, normal newborn nursery care, and ED consults for pediatric patients, as needed.
- Primary practice location at the newly opened IU Health Bloomington hospital (75-100%). Opportunities for growth through clinical coverage as staffing allows at Riley in Indianapolis, IU North in Carmel, and IU West in Avon
- Procedures include lumbar puncture and circumcision (training provided, as needed)

Clinical specialists focus on prevention, diagnosis, treatment and ongoing care including (but not limited to) meningitis, pneumonia, Kawasaki, fevers, Osteomyelitis, HIV, infections in immunocompromised hosts, HSV, Lyme disease, histoplasmosis, tuberculosis, ect. Our physician teams have a strong culture of collaboration with other pediatric specialty and surgical divisions. Recent significant growth includes increased outpatient clinic footprint, and additional inpatient services for primary infectious disease, general consults, and immunocompromised consults.
Position Highlights
- Full-time, located in Indianapolis, Indiana
- Approximately 80% clinical, 20% academic including protected time for Associate Medical Director of Antimicrobial Stewardship
- Monday-Friday schedule with shared night and weekend call
- Faculty appointment (Assistant/Associate Professor) with the Indiana University School of Medicine
- Responsibilities include inpatient rounding, outpatient clinics, phone consults and educational supervision and instruction of fellows, residents and medical students

Qualifications
- Board Eligible or Certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Infectious Disease
- Completion of training through ABMS residency and fellowship
