Location: Lafayette, IN - Specialty: Nurse Practitioner, Wound Care

Key responsibilities

  • Treat patients with open wounds across the lifespan needing advanced wound care such as: hyperbaric oxygen therapy, total contact casting, negative pressure wound therapy, and cellular and tissue-based products

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree Required

Position Details:

Procedures:

  • Assisting in thoracic surgery cases, and chest tube placement.

Job Description and Key Responsibilities:

  • Outpatient Setting- APP provides clinic coverage, conducting preoperative evaluations, postoperative follow-up visits, and ongoing patient management while collaborating closely with surgeons and other care team members to develop and implement individualized treatment plans. 
  • Inpatient Setting- APP manages the continuum of surgical care through daily patient rounds, postoperative assessment and management, coordination of care, discharge planning, and performance of bedside procedures, including chest tube management and wound care. APP serves as a key clinical resource, ensuring timely communication among patients, families consulting services, and the healthcare team. 
  • Operating Room- APP functions as a first assist in a variety of general thoracic surgical procedures, with a primary focus on robotic-assisted thoracic surgery. Responsibilities include assisting with operative exposure, tissue handling, robotic case support, and other intraoperative duties that contribute to safe and efficient surgical outcomes.
  • This role will require strong clinical judgement, excellent communication skills, and the ability to practice both independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care. 

Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree Required

  • We welcome both Experienced APP's and New Grads who have completed meaningful clinical rotations in thoracic surgery, cardiovascular surgery, critical care, or related specialties
  • Prior APP experience is preferred but not required

  • Experience performing or assisting with office-based procedures, patient education, and care coordination is desirable

Qualifications:

  • Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing or Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program required 
  • Maintains current BLS certification
  • ACNP, AGNP, CNM, FNP, WHNP or PA certification required 
  • Current Indiana license as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant
